Dining Room Refresh

Our Western Bungalow Dining Room Gallery Wall

Our dining room was in need of a little refresh… the original photos & frames we had mounted prior to receiving our sideboard (as it was on backorder upon backorder) and once it arrived, the rectangular frames just felt off. Not to mention, the color scheme of the photos didn’t align with my vision for the space. I finally had an excuse to print a few of my favorite photos from our engagement shoot and give this space a little refresh!

It took me a while to decide on frame size and shape, I ultimately wanted square frames but found myself stuck between 12 x 12” and 16 x 16” (too small) or 20 x 20” (which was too big). I ended up choosing 14 x 18” rectangular frames matted with an 8 x 10” photo. Other than the fact that the back bracket of the frames were difficult to mount to the nails, I’m really happy with the size, shape and price ($20 each) of the frames.

I was looking to tie in more of a desert boho vibe and the Joshua Tree landscape did just that, it helped to incorporate earthy tones to the space. When it came to decor, I styled the sideboard with pieces that we already had. Actually, all of the vases and the candleholder are re-purposed from our wedding. The dried pampas arrangement, well that was my wedding bouquet.

When I was wedding planning, I was considering all of the costs that come along with renting decor and fresh floral arrangements and decided that it wasn’t worth it. I would rather purchase pieces that could be re-purposed in our home and remind us of our wedding day for years to come.

I’ve purchased a few new pieces for this space which I can’t wait to share with you all but they are backordered until late fall so stay tuned for another refresh in a few months!
